When I’ve felt the most alone
You stood beside me as my closest friend
When I’ve felt like giving up
You’re the fan in the stand yelling “I can do it”
When nothing seems to go right
You are the constant thing in my life
Showing me I can make it through
What should reassure me, leaves me
Leaves me empty and wanting.
How do I keep the pain at bay,
How do I not remove your position in my life?
when things aren’t working the way I see fit
Letting go of expectation is far from easy
Gotta guard my heart you say
For when the voices of opposition appear,
is it to admit powerlessness, which means
the outcome is not in my hands?
No one knows me like you do
A Father to His child
A love like no other
Unconditionally, never failing
Is the Love you have for me
For when I’m lacking in faith
All the things I remember are the first things I forget.
Yet you are always with me!
